Listing a business

How do I claim ownership of my listing?

If your business is already listed on DiveBuddy, you can claim your listing and personalise your space. Visit your listing page and click on “Claim Ownership”. DiveBuddy moderators will review your application and may get in touch with you to verify your claim. When claiming ownership, you may choose to continue on the free package or you can upgrade to one of our premium packages.

How long does it take to process a “claim ownership” request?

A “Claim Ownership” request may take up to 48 hours to process.

I have a dive shop with a dive school, which package would be best for me?

The Barracuda package would be the best choice for you. The Barracuda package includes four listing options – Dive Retail, Dive Charter, Dive School and Dive Club, but you don’t have to choose all four options. All of the DiveBuddy packages only require that you choose at least one category.

I only have a dive shop, but I want a featured position on the DiveBuddy website. Which package is right for me?

The Big Tuna package is the best option for you. This is the only package that promotes your business to a featured position on the DiveBuddy website. The Big Tuna package has four listing options – Dive Retail, Dive Charter, Dive School and Dive Club. However, you need only choose Dive Retail if that is appropriate for your business.

I run a dive charter business, which package is best for me?

The Barracuda package would be the best choice. The Barracuda package provides four listing options – Dive Retail, Dive Charter, Dive School and Dive Club. You can just ignore the categories that do not apply to you.

What does it cost to claim ownership of my listing?

There is no cost to claim your listing. After claiming your listing, you will be automatically subscribed to the free Kingfish package. However, if you choose to upgrade your listing to a premium package, there will be a small monthly charge. See our Subscription Packages page for prices.

What is the Rating and Review System?

DiveBuddy website visitors can leave a rating (1 – 5 stars) and can write a review based on their experience. The ratings and reviews are moderated by DiveBuddy staff before being published. Businesses listed on DiveBuddy benefit from higher ratings by appearing in searches ahead of businesses with lower ratings.

While upgrading my subscription, I was not able to select the appropriate categories.

While upgrading your subscription you are not able to modify your listing category. The ability to select from the appropriate categories is only available once your upgrade payment is confirmed by DiveBuddy. Once confirmation has been made, you can then visit your DiveBuddy profile page and edit your categories. Please note that upgrade requests may take up to 48 hours to process.

Optimising my visibility on DiveBuddy

How can I increase the visibility of my business on DiveBuddy?

There are two effective ways to increase the visibility of your charter, school or retail business on DiveBuddy. Firstly, you should upgrade your listing to a paid package, which will allow you to list in a category appropriate to your business. You will then appear in category-specific searches. Secondly, listings with high ratings automatically appear ahead of listings with low ratings. So, try your best to provide your customers with good service and encourage them to leave a review on DiveBuddy.

Searching DiveBuddy

I am searching for a dive business by name, but I get no results.

If you are searching for a dive business by name and getting no result, it could mean that the business is not listed on DiveBuddy. It could also mean that you have spelled the business name incorrectly. You could try searching for dive sites in the vicinity of the respective business. DiveBuddy will then return all businesses operating in that area. Alternatively, use the advanced search on the sidebar of the DiveBuddy homepage to search by category.
